schotel says:
So!
We are finally home again!
As you might have read in the bigger newspapers and perhaps seen in TV-commercials, SchotelvandeDag has been on an extensive world-tour for the past month.
With only 40 days and nights, and around 85 shows, we are totally devastated now. I mean, I always used to have bags under my eyes, but this time, boy..
So, we’ve been to about 60 countries, including the islands around the Bermuda-triangle (which were not that much fun at all), Uganda, and, last but certainly least; Belgium.
We are now really glad to spend some time away from eachother, being back home with the wife and kids after such a long time is always like, well.. being back home with the wife and kids. It wasn’t all fun and games, spending all that time on the road in such a crappy touring-747, i can tell you.. I mean, there’s only so much time one can spend in the on-board jacuzzi.. Eventually the water gets cold, and then it’s on to the maxi-bar and, well… we all know how that ends, don’t we..
On another note, I’ve so had it with fans and all that. I mean, can’t we all just stay home, watch television or something.? It scares the shit out of me what people do just to get a signature. I really only need just two girls per night, anything above that is just plain overkill that’s for sure.
Anyway.. there are some pictures and videos off our new Live-DVD up on the internet, for those of you who just can’t get enough (or for the people who came to see us at the sold-out Los Angeles-arena show and just couldn’t get in anymore.. (i’m sorry, you know who you are, this is for you; i love all of you guys.)
We have also uploaded the entire 2CD-album we recently recorded, it seemed at the time we wouldn’t, but nowadays the pressing-factory cannot seem to catch up with the enormous demand, so it only seemed fit to give it away for free, just to cut the hardworking guys some slack..
Unfortunately, the same problem goes for the UK, our vinyl-pressingplant over there is totally stressed out and hasn’t finished the pressing of our 10″-split record yet.
All the merch, including T-shirts are already sold-out too.
This thing is really taking it’s toll on all of us.. It’s like some kind of monster, constantly following our every moves. Sometimes I wish i’d never gotten into this business.. but hell, you gotta make-do with what extraordinary talents you receive.. right? It’s as much a blessing as it is a curse. I miss being able to just get out the door and not being seen by everyone..
I’m sorry for the rant. it just really gets to me sometimes..
I have an appointment with some guys from Sony in a couple of minutes, my shrink’s picking us up from the airport, so i guess i gotta run.
By the way, just to let off some steam and get back to like ten years ago, when we still played small clubs like Tivoli and Paradiso (holland, we love you), we’re playing Ekko at the 18th of june. Be sure to get a ticket in advance, it’s gonna be sold-out wildly! We’re playing with some small band from somewhere around the globe, i believe they’re called Caves or Slaves or even Staves or something funny like that; makes for a nice and easy preheater-support-band though..
well i’m signing off, take care, and stay true..
cheers
