The Black Atlantic on tour
European tour 2012

Every year we try to contribute our humble share to Hollands best festival and this year will be no exception! ‘How do you mean?’ Well here’s a little glimpse of what we are up to! On Saturday November 26th Beep! Beep! Back Up The Truck and the awesome
Le Guess Who? festival present the free mini-festival “Le Mini Who?”.

In collaboration with various shops and cafes in and around the Voorstraat in Utrecht we will present mini gigs and viewings of some pretty awesome artists! The fun will take place between 12:00 and 18:00 at various locations. Participating locations at Le Mini Who? are Plato record store, The Village Coffee …& Music, Puha, VinVin, Klijs & Boon, Café ‘t Hart, De Voortuin and Café Sussies. Besides a very extensive and varied music program, Klijs & Boon will show various videos and graphic designer Carlien Peijsel will display her ‘habit’ project in Puha. Exclusively for Le Guess Who? wristband-holders there have been arranged various discounts at these participating partners.
The program of Le Mini Who? will be announced on Friday, November 18th , during the warm-up party with Sleep and Pure X ∞ in EKKO. This pre-party is free for festival pass holders – other visitors pay € 5 entrance.
It’s time for a little bit of live music boys ‘n girls. We’re proud to present to you Josiah & Liz Wolf performing at the awesome Ekko on November 9. While you read the rest of this post please start the video below first:
You might know Josiah Wolf from his band Why? who also performed at our very own Vette Analoge Shit night back in 2009. As off the 20th of this month the band will be touring through Europe again (tour dates here), but they unfortunately will not be playing in our little old country. Luckily for you Josiah and his lovely wife Liz will! And even luckier for us Dutchies: this will be the only show in the BeNeLux.
If you’re a (very) slow reader, the video above is done playing by now and you don’t need any more convincing (if you want some more though listen to Josiah on Spotify). So let’s jump to it:

Trans Am is a three-piece band which originated in Bethesda, Maryland,[1] that performs a mix of funk, metal, and German pop music.[2] Their work treads a fine line between spoof and homage, mainly centering on a cerebrally robotic, semi-danceable, minimalistic format, reminiscent of 1980s video game soundtrack music. They are known for constant touring (with bands such as Tortoise, Pan Sonic, The Fucking Champs, The Bronx and Tool), cryptic album artwork, and continual thematic re-invention. (says Wiki).
Onderstroom & Vette Analoge Shit are having them over at dB’s studio, Utrecht on Saturday, July 9th. You don’t want to mis it! We never did in the past decade! Besides that we have a great support by the likes of Possible Suspect, Utrecht punk veterans! Owh boy. We wish it was July 9th already!

And a swell video!

Here’s something to ring your bell. Parts & Labor toured with bands such as Battles, TV on the Radio, Deerhoof, Voltage, Japanther, Pterodactyl, and Matt & Kim.

Support comes from local teen hero’s Lost Bear. These nineties rockers just released their new record “Limshasa” on Snowstar records!

Yesterday we had the privilege to host Azure Ray during this years first edition of Vette Analoge Shit. A bunch of people showed up and the Secret Love Parade, James Husband as well as Azure Ray themselves totally showed what they are made of! Anneke Hymmen shot some fine images to keep your memories nice and fresh. Check them out beneath!
Here’s some extra youtube thingy too… people people when do you start to enjoy the actual show

Sacha van den Haak of Kok Pistolet made this fine piece of art to communicate a mighty fine concert that you should attend. Don’t miss out!

Our party last Saturday was great, awesome, and then some. A big shout out (yes, we do shout outs here) to all the bands who put on kick-ass shows without exception, all the crew who helped us out (Temy, Tim, Marten, all the Oudenoorders!) and of course all the drunken bastards who showed up. Here’s some pictures to enjoy. All taken by the all mighty Anneke Hymmen.

We’re all friends here, right? And every now and again friends need to get together, drink a beer or 23 and play some tunes for each other, right? Hella right!
