Remix The Walt! (and win some prizes)

The Walt delivered not only a brand-new spanking E.P. but they also decided to publish all 150 separate studiotracks under the Creative Commons licence to show their support for the modern remix culture and, of course, in hope of hearing some kick-ass remixes! So start remixen and win some prizes while you’re at it.

It’s no secret that Beep! Beep! embraces the freedom that comes with Creative Commons. We already published 14 albums under the CC licence and believe you me: there’s more on the way.

We’re very pleased to see The Walt is taking it one step further. All 150 studiotracks of their E.P. ‘Something we did not have’ have been published over at our friends at ccmixter.org (and a special thank you to mailmen studios for delivering the material).  In this way The Walt gives some high-quality samples to the remix-platform wich can be used for all sorts of digital compositions. Of course it’s also possible to remix the songs by The Walt themselves. To encourage this we decided to tickle you with some prices. Here goes.

The best three remixes will be included in the limited edition of ‘Something we did not have’. 40 copies have been silk-screened, cut-out and folded by hand by the guys of The Walt. Each copy is numbered by hand. It includes the original cd and the silk-screened poster, but also an extra cd including the upcoming video (more on that later), some live video footage and, as mentioned, the three choosen remixes. Each remixer will get one copy of this special E.P. (the rest will be available in our shop later).

Also the three winners can count on some nice Beep! Beep! goodies (think T’s and cd’s, baby).
