Trans Am is a three-piece band which originated in Bethesda, Maryland,[1] that performs a mix of funk, metal, and German pop music.[2] Their work treads a fine line between spoof and homage, mainly centering on a cerebrally robotic, semi-danceable, minimalistic format, reminiscent of 1980s video game soundtrack music. They are known for constant touring (with bands such as Tortoise, Pan Sonic, The Fucking Champs, The Bronx and Tool), cryptic album artwork, and continual thematic re-invention. (says Wiki).

Onderstroom & Vette Analoge Shit are having them over at dB’s studio, Utrecht on Saturday, July 9th. You don’t want to mis it! We never did in the past decade! Besides that we have a great support by the likes of Possible Suspect, Utrecht punk veterans! Owh boy. We wish it was July 9th already!

Brooklyn based experimental rockers Parts & Labor just released a new record and you’ll be pleased to know we are having them over. For the third time to be exact! Not sure if you know them? Here’s something to ring your bell. Parts & Labor toured with bands such as Battles, TV on the Radio, Deerhoof, Voltage,  Japanther, Pterodactyl, and Matt & Kim.

To warm you up for LEGUESSWHO? festival 2010 we will host a FREE pre-party on Friday, November 12. It will take place at dB’s, Utecht, where you will be entertained by New Yorks hottest, Beach Fossils.

The jangly, self recorded ramblings of Brooklyn’s Dustin Payseur go by the name of Beach Fossils and offer hauntingly catchy tunes that blend the energy of an impulsive road trip with the melodious wandering of a lucid dream. Sun drenched riffs, kaleidoscopic rhythms and hazy lyrics saturate Beach Fossils’ first release, the album’s carefree vibe is perfectly summed up through song titles such as ‘Daydream,” “Vacation,” and “Lazy Day.”

OK, not so good news. Unfortunately Circulatory System canceled all there European dates (except for Primavera) so it’s only Babt Woodrose on may 21st. And then there was Railcars, who recorded its first 7″ in the Kitchen of Xiu Xiu frontman Jamie Stewart. Railcars is an attempt to bring the images that have haunted Aria’s mind to life using drum boxes, synths, and noise pedals with sentiments recreated in lyrical form. The current four member line up for Railcars live performances was established by Jalali before touring with Handsome Furs in April 2008. Railcars can be compared to Jamie Stewards side project Former Ghosts, Wavves with a touch of Animal Collective. Ain’t that fresh!

Straight forward rock comes from the hand of Neon Rainbows. These fellows gained quite some fame under the name of Fever dream. Since it’s not up to us to pull old cows out of the ditch we compare them with Les Savy Fav and Cursive.

Last and least would be Eklin, formally known as Adept. About the ‘least’ thing we were kidding, Duh! These nice fellas bring you experimental electronics packed with oppressive and exceptionally dark energy! Lately they’ve added a Blonde Reddish girly person to their line up who treats eyes and ears…out of heressss!

Back up the Truck concerten.Voor elk affiche dat hij maakt tekent hij zelf de typografie. De illustraties worden in 1 keer op papier gezet zonder bestaande fonts na te tekenen. Hierdoor ontstaan lettervormen die vaak enigszins vreemd lijken of gewoonweg niet kloppen. De foutjes die onstaan door deze methode worden gecultiveerd en maken deel uit van het ontwerp. Puur, spontaan en verwijzend naar elementen uit de ondergrondse vrije pers uit de jaren zestig/zeventig.
