When your to-do list is longer then Mr. Zijlstra’s list of planned cultural cutbacks, you can be hella sure ‘reminiscing’ isn’t on there. That’s how it can happen that while you’re doing your business on the potty (yes, that other kind of business) and your staring absent minded at your calendar, all of a sudden it hits you: Holy crap shit! It’s our birthday!

The festivities will take place on Sunday, August 28 at Utrecht’s main venue, Tivoli Oudegracht and will not merely involve eating cake and sipping coffee. No sir, there will also be music! Please behold our humble line up!

The evening will start early as doors open at 17:30. The first act will play at 18:30 (order will be announced soon). Good to know: the party will take place at two different stages. The bottom three of the above mentioned acts will kick things off in ‘The mirror room’ while Moon & Sun and Blonde Redhead will carry on the awesomeness at the main stage.
Tickets giving access to both rooms are limited to 200. Tickets for the main hall are available through Tivoli.nl but do not give access to the mirror room. In case you already bought a main hall ticket you can mail info@beepbeep.nl to get info about how to get access to the mirror room.

People often ask us who’s responsible for all that esthetic tastiness on our website. You know, posters such as this one, or this, or one of our personal favorites: this baby. Our website was build by these guys, and they even brought this beauty of an album to this world. Recently they made new shirts for The Black Atlantic which will hit our store in a week or two.

We often ponder where we’d be without them, our loyal designerkids. But you know, they grow up so fast don’t they? Before you know it it’s time for them to leave the nest and wander the world by themselves. Let them wander, we tearfully said to each other. Let them wander.

We’re all friends here, right? And every now and again friends need to get together, drink a beer or 23 and play some tunes for each other, right? Hella right!

That’s why we’re hosting the second editon of the Ons kent Ons Festival (we won’t even bother translating that) on December 18th at dB’s Utrecht. 18 bands, 4 stages and more awesome music then you can handle. All performances will be short and sweet, ranging from experimental electronic to thumping hardcorepunk. Some bands will play a debut show, some will say goodbye. A can’t miss oppurtunity for every music loving freak.

We still owe you some vids and photos of our lovely evening in that old mill where we hosted the double release party for My Bubba & Mi and Het Gloren. Let’s get right to it then.

Photographer extraordinaire Anneke Hymmen made some great snapshots of all the bands that evening. We also had  Mekong and Kanipchen-Fit over who both delivered awesomeness straight to the ears.

And a big big thank you for mr. Chris Rechtop for recording the audio for our videos. Much obliged. Check out how great it’s sounding (only wish the image quality was up to par).

The albums by both artists can be picked up in our shop. Must-haves you must have and so cheap it’s almost sickening.

First of all. We moved in to our new office this week. It’s just as high as it is wide. It has a tiny window, but it’s still amazingly sunny. Check it out!

Further more we can tell that the Black Atlantic keeps on rollin’. They just wrapped up their US tour and continue their journey here in Europe. From now until mid June they can be found in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. After that the will return to North America to play NXNE and will stay there until late July. Geezzz, busy bodies! On four of these dates the band will join ‘Woven Hand‘. Check out the agenda for more info.

The Walt is currently recording a seven inch as part of an art project to honor Wim Crouwel a famous Dutch graphic designer also know for these little beauties that we used to stick on our letters back in the eighties. Owh and yes you can expect a new album this year!

Het Gloren will play a last minute show on April 20 as support for Tunng @Melkweg, Amsterdam. Nice! More dates are in the works. As for now. Buy/Download that ‘Glorie 123‘ here!

My Bubba & Mi arrived in Italy where they gave birth to their debut record. There’s still a string of dates left before they head back to Iceland…or ehm…probably Denmark for now…
