Ons Kent Ons Pictures

Our party last Saturday was great, awesome, and then some. A big shout out (yes, we do shout outs here) to all the bands who put on kick-ass shows without exception, all the crew who helped us out (Temy, Tim, Marten, all the Oudenoorders!) and of course all the drunken bastards who showed up. Here’s some pictures to enjoy. All taken by the all mighty Anneke Hymmen.

Ons kent Ons Festival

We’re all friends here, right? And every now and again friends need to get together, drink a beer or 23 and play some tunes for each other, right? Hella right!

That’s why we’re hosting the second editon of the Ons kent Ons Festival (we won’t even bother translating that) on December 18th at dB’s Utrecht. 18 bands, 4 stages and more awesome music then you can handle. All performances will be short and sweet, ranging from experimental electronic to thumping hardcorepunk. Some bands will play a debut show, some will say goodbye. A can’t miss oppurtunity for every music loving freak.

You can order your tickets in our webshop. Only 10 euro’s for the whole night.

Beep! Beep! Back up the Truck
presents

Behold My Puny Bears, Vol. II

This turned out to be a pretty damn special package for a number of reasons. Let us break it down for you.

1. We go: “It’s completely free!” Then you go: “Yeah, what else is new? All your tunes are up as free downloads.” “No son, we’re talking the actual CD here. When you order something in our shop for 10 euro’s or more, we’ll include this label compilation for zero euro’s.” Then you say: “O No, you didn’t!!”. “Well we did. And if you’re broke, or just really cheap, but still want to own pure coolness, you can order the cd separate for 3 euro’s.

2. Every cover is completely unique. The front and back of the package are actual photographs (containing tasteful male nudity). We made tons of pictures and handmade sets for each album. We could say ‘collect them all’ but that would cost you 500 × 3 euro’s. Ah, what the hell: ‘Collect Them All!!

3. The music on this lil’ silver shiny disc turned out to be not too crappy at all! It’s a nice way to get to know our artists (and then some more). Loyal listeners will recognize most of the songs, but there’s some brand new stuff on there too. Check out the playlist:

As for Kismet, they’ll be hitting Germany, Austria and Switzerland this april. They hope to see you there.

We sincerely apologize. Shit happens.

V.A.S. 17-01-10; Thao w/the Get Down Stay Down

Before we sit down with mama and papa bear and stuff our bellies with them puny christmasturkeys only to hit the slopes afterworths and enjoy a well deserved holiday a la France we have to deliver some good news to mankind: We’ve booked the fantastic Thao with the Get Down Stay Down for the first Vette Analoge Shit of the new year! Hooray for us.

Don’t know miss Thao yet? This is what KillRockStars had to say about her:

According to Thao Nguyen, she has two talents: her first is she has a knack for beat-boxing and humming at the same time (Rahzel needn’t worry about any competition just yet though…) and her second, and in her opinion finest, is that she had a capacity to watch so much TV as a kid, she’s convinced her personality is made up of several different sitcom characters. Of course Thao, the 23 year Virginia-bred songwriter, is forgetting her unique voice, natural sense for a good melody, and striking lyrics, skillful guitar plucking and her deadly dry sense of humour. Thao’s debut for Kill Rock Stars, showcases all these talents and more, proving she’s a star in the making.

Better yet. Listen to one of their songs and fill up that empty page in your agenda asap.

Thao w/the Get Down Stay Down – Know Better Learn Faster

Kismet will start off this sunday afternoon with their ruthless indiepop to get you all hyped up and ready to go. We’re starting off early this time, so you’ll be fresh and ready to go for the hell we call mondaymorning.

Kismet; ‘Hiatus’ Performed Acoustically But Not Necessarily Worse

`Seven Songs Of Our Previous Record ‘Hiatus’ Performed Acoustically So They’ll Sound A Little Different But Not Necessarily Worse’

kismetlivecdlabel

Kismets little gesture to mothers, daughters, openminded hetrosexuals, metrosexuals, homosexuals, and let’s not forget the mainstream. In short. This release might not be suitable for machos, but most definitely is for people who fancy machos. Catch our drift?

These seven songs were recorded in their hometown Utrecht during a live show back in june. They guy who’s responsible for all this would be Chris Regtop, who actually graduated with this project at the School For Awesome & SuperTalented People Who In Fact Are SuperTalented (and most of them awesome) But Problably Will Have To Live Of Government Funding Or Try And Find A Real Job Cuz The Music Bizz Is A Bitch (what’s up with superlong idiotic titles anyways these days?!).

Give these songs a try and download ‘em HERE. If you’d like to buy it, you can find it in our webshop. Or come and pick one up yourself at one of their livingroom shows with The Black Atlantic and Het Gloren
in December. Awesome times! Dates are below.
